Primetime is the BCM’s large group worship service. Each week, our worship band, speaker, and creative team comes together to create an interactive and powerful worship experience for you. Primetime starts at 8:00pm at the BCM Building. Each week is something new that you won’t want to miss. This summer we’ll have a more simple format. Come on and be a part!

Love and Truth

In our Sunday School class, Dr. Deal has asked us to read and reread the book of Haggai, one of the minor prophets. Prophets are often not very popular. They are commissioned by God to speak His Word to the people, and often that Word goes directly in opposition to other voices influencing the people . The Word of God, especially in this context, often brings disruption, pain, fear, and judgment.
Do we seek out those who will speak Truth into our lives? Do we take the risk of speaking Truth into the lives of others? Occasionally, we are the recipients of positive legacies of those who have come before us, particularly in our church, BCM, or peer group of Christians. Certain expectations of vulnerability, sharing, character, lifestyle, and truth-speaking are found in the best of these groups. That doesn’t happen by accident. Someone decided to hold up an example of Christian discipleship. They have said, by word and deed, “Thus saith the Lord!” and set the standard. Sometimes we are able to bring that example and encouragement forward to new generations that come into the group. At other times, although we would say we agree with that standard, we do not personally take responsibility for raising the bar ourselves. We fail to exert leadership and influence. We do not speak the truth in love when that standard begins to diminish.
Where do we want to be. We walk a fine line in developing a wide circle of relationships and including all those of us who are “not there yet” while at the same time, not making excuses for lack of discipleship in the culture we are creating around us. As we begin the new year, let us encourage one another with the same love Christ has for us. Let us challenge one another with the Truth that God commissions US to speak in His name.

*Be an active participant of BCM / Church Ministry.
*Participate in all of the missions fundraising projects.
*Attend all team meetings and team ministry training projects.
*Financially responsible for paying for mission trip expenses.
*Apply for passport by March 2012.
*Plan to leave Atlanta Airport on July 18 and return to Atlanta on July 30.

South East Asia WORLD CHANGERS: Are you adventurous and ready to experience an exotic culture and friendly people? Do you love Jesus and desire to share God’s love with those who have never heard? Come spend ten days in a major Asian city where all of the world’s cultures and religions mingle and over 600,000 university students study! IWC will assist a new church with outreach by engaging in a variety of activities such as sports evangelism, English tutoring, campus ministry, and relationship building.

The Mission is to be a positive light for Christ, to help the needs of the community and to make a difference in the world. As we get closer to the time, you will find out more and more about the needs we will meet and be trained for all we will do. Your folks will find out about team destination as needed but part of the excitement of this trip is to focus on your learning and preparation and as we go, to be surprised, to learn and to live in the moment, serving others! It is important you maintain a Christ-like example in your language, in the purity of your life and in other ways to advance His Kingdom!

Student Activities Error

For those of you who connect with the BCM through OrgSync, the campus mandated student organizations communications software, you may notice that the BCM has been marked as inactive. This is due to an oversight in the Office of Student Activities when analyzing some of their paperwork. The BCM was notified of this issue at 4:50 pm, just 10 minutes before closing, on the day before Ms. Littles left for Thanksgiving break. Because she maintains sole control of the OrgSync system, we will not be able to resolve her error until Monday.

As always, the BCM Website, NOT OrgSync is the main way to communicate with us and stay in touch with what’s going on here at the BCM. Enjoy your Thanksgiving Break!
